Microsoft has offered Windows 10 free of cost, for all its Windows 8 users. The interested can register for Windows 10 free version.
Just now noticed (Jul 31, 2015 2:12 am IST) that Windows 10 downloading is already in process in the background. Once the download completes, the user needs to complete the upgrade process.
